Self-Matching Prevention

ProphetX does not allow an order to match against your own resting order on the same account.

How it works

When an incoming order would otherwise cross a resting order placed under the same account, the exchange does not execute a trade between them. Instead, both orders are wiped: the resting order and the incoming order are each canceled with status: wiped, and any stake reserved for either one is released back to your available balance.

This is the same wiped status used elsewhere (for example, when pre-match orders are wiped as an event transitions to live) — see Meaning of Enums. The public API does not currently expose a separate reason code, so you cannot tell from the order response alone whether a wiped order was wiped for self-matching versus another cause. If you need to confirm the cause for a specific order, contact your ProphetX integration contact with the order ID.

Scope

Self-matching is evaluated per account: the exchange compares the account that placed each order. It does not look across other, separate accounts you may hold or manage — orders under a different account will still match normally against this account's resting orders.

Avoiding it

Because both sides are wiped rather than one being rejected, self-matching can remove resting liquidity you intended to keep on the book, not just block the new order. If you run multiple strategies or bots under one account, make sure they can't end up placing opposing orders on the same market and outcome. Checking your own open orders (GET /v4/mm/get_order_history) before submitting a new order is one way to guard against this.
